Veíamos en la última entrega el cambio de tonalidad I -> IV (por ejemplo, de C a F). Lógicamente, también podemos aplicar dicho cambio en las escalas menores, pasando de VIm -> IIm (por ejemplo de Am a Dm).
Para lograr el cambio de forma suave, lo normal es usar VI o VI7, de forma parecida a lo que hacíamos en el cambio de I -> V.
Veamos un ejemplo en la canción You and your friend de Dire Straits. Aquí la escala inicial es Gm (VIm) y el cambio es a Cm (IIm), ya que la tónica es Bb (I):
Gm - Gm - Bb - G7

Nota: Los acordes son Gm (3-5-5-3-3-3), Bb (1-1-3-3-3-1), G7 (3-2-0-0-0-1), Cm (3-3-5-5-4-3) y Ab (4-6-6-5-4-4). Fíjate que para este último acorde ponemos la misma configuración que para F, pero subiéndolo al traste adecuado, en este caso al 4º.
Como la progresión de acordes en la canción es bastante lenta, en sólo dos líneas hace el cambio de tonalidad y vuelve a la original.
Recuerda que en el cambio I -> IV, la única nota que cambia de la escala es el séptimo grado, que pasa a bemol (en este caso es la nota La que pasa a ser Lab).
